RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Delighted Brazilians let off fireworks, released balloons and draped giant yellow team shirts over landmarks to celebrate the announcement that their soccer-obsessed country will host the 2014 World Cup.
Brazil has won the World Cup five times - more than any other nation - and its dazzling football prowess is a defining character of the vast, multi-racial nation.
With typical optimism, Brazilians said they were sure the country could overcome decrepit stadiums and rampant urban violence to stage a successful spectacle in 2014.
By that time I will be 29 years old. I wonder where will I be watching the world cup? Perhaps i will have no time for world cup because I am stucked with the jobs in I-banking. Having a good day dream huh? Really need to finalize all my job application soon….

If you still have no clue on what am i talking about, check this out.

I just found out that I haven’t been blogging about personal stuff lately and some of my friends have been nagging me to post some of my photos here. So here you go with this post. Today also marks a full month time when I reached London on the 24th Sept.
Let’s start with the weather here. It’s almost end of autumn now in London and it gets dark quite early at around 5/6pm. In winter it will get dark at around 3pm and will be much colder than now. The temperatre in previous weeks was still ok, just a bit cooling in the afternoon. But it gets much colder now even in the afternoon. I need to keep my windows closed at night. Luckily I have central heating and that keeps my room quite warm. BTW, I am just saying two station away from Arsenal. That station was packed yesterday due to the champions league schedule. Will find a day and visit the Emirates stadium in a liverpool jersey. Continue reading »

It really feels weird listening to “cha bou ma bou”(Double Chappel) at 1am here. lol. After all it should be a morning breakfast show…
Check this piece of news out.
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) — David Copperfield’s performance in Malaysia this month has been cancelled after the FBI launched an investigation into the world-famous US magician and illusionist, a report said Monday. The organisers of his two-day stint here on October 30 and 31 said the decision to cancel was made after agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigations raided Copperfield’s storage warehouse in Los Angeles last week.
“He needs to help in the investigations. Copperfield is not prevented from leaving the United States but he needs time to get to the bottom of things,” Arianna Teoh, director of Arianna Event Management, said in The Star newspaper. Continue reading »

I have been searching for free sites to watch EPL since I came. I couldn’t find any. Most of the sites required you to pay. My friend said the only way to watch free tv channel is to get a tv card and watch it on your pc.(You need to pay for a tv licence to watch tv program in uk)
Calvin Tan recently intro this site - LiveFooty to me where i can watch sports channel for free. (I just watched the F1 Brazil grand Prix where Raikonen was crowned champion) But before you can watch any channel on LiveFooty, you need to install a software from SopCast. Just get the software on your pc and you are ready to go.
And also check out this site - GoalTube where all the soccer highlights are posted online, just minutes after the final whistle. You will love it if you are a soccer fans. Continue reading »

I was browsing through some pyramid scheme information on the web and I came across these few very interesting sites regarding religion and pyramid scheme.
Religions are illegal pyramid scheme
You know what pyramid schemes are right - and how they’re illegal. Well it occurred to me that there are a few long running pyramid schemes that for some reason have not been stopped by the authorities so far.If at least a couple of these points are true of a venture or organisation, then you’ve probably discovered an illegal pyramid scheme:
1. Only the people at the very top are the top earners.
2. You are promised future monetary rewards or bonuses based on your advancement up the structure.
3. Over time, the hierarchy of participants resembles a pyramid as newer, larger layers of participants join the established structure at the bottom.
4. The illegal money-making venture is modified and adapted to suit the victims - often in times of crisis.
5. It is presented as unique, miraculous, and unavailable elsewhere - accessible only to those with the vision to appreciate its benefits to humanity.
6. They rely on widespread ignorance of basic mathematics.
7. Pyramid promoters are masters of group psychology.
8. At recruiting meetings they create a frenzied, enthusiastic atmosphere with group pressure promising a spectacular result in the end.
9. They play upon people’s fears of missing out on a good deal.
10. In the end, members at the top seem to be above the law.
So what does it mean if all are true?
Religions teach very primitive laws by today’s standards, retaining that legacy in modern society causes more harm than good. You don’t need religion to be a good person, don’t allow yourself to be brainwashed. Continue reading »

At last the AC550 Quantitative Methods for Accounting and Finance had come to an end! It’s kinda nightmare to me cos never in my life that I have not understand a single mathematic lecture/class. Math had always been one of my strongest subjects and I was still thinking of taking two very quantitative papers as my electives since the beginning of the course. Luckily I changed my mind last minute else I will have to suffer for my lent term. Perhaps the oxford MFE selection committee is right to reject my application since the MFE is a highly quantitative course.
If you think that i am the only one who couldn’t understand the calculus lecture, check this out from my coursemate Yinyin,
She did her Finance Degree in Beijing University. Continue reading »
