To urge the police to investigate Tajuddin’s remark that DAP has controlled the government and the unfounded lies that DAP want to set up a republic in Malaysia.
I have today lodged a police report at the Ipoh District Police Headquarters against UMNO supreme council member Tajuddin against his remark during the Himpunan Melayu Bangkit (Malays Arise Rally) at Pekan Kampung Gajah in Pasir Salak on 1 September.
Tajuddin has been reported by Malaysiakini (https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/441293) to have said the following,
“Today, we have lost power, the Malays have lost power. More than half of the government today is controlled by the non-Malays and non-Muslims.
“DAP alone has five or six positions. And they also have many more deputy ministers. Half of the government is a DAP government,”
“DAP is the enemy of Malays, the enemy of Islam… They want to set up a republic. They want the head of state to be a non-Malay and non-Muslim like it is in Singapore.
_”Do we want a head of state who is non-Malay and non-Muslim to become the protector of Malays and Islam?” _
Tajuddin’s speech is not only fabricated lies but also outright seditious, trying to stir up racial sentiment and to create conflict among different races in Malaysia. MCA in the past has been telling the chinese community that DAP is a stooge to Mahathir and PPBM but UMNO on the other hand tells the Malays that DAP has now controlled the Pakatan Harapan government.
This double-faced tactic employed by MCA and UMNO aimed at stirring racial sentiments is dangerous and perilous and could potentially tear the nation apart.
I urged MCA sole Member of Parliament Wee Ka Siong to immediately state his stand whether he agrees to Tajuddin’s remark that DAP has now controlled the Pakatan Harapan government. If Wee does not agree, he must immediately issue a stern rebut against UMNO.
In fact, Pakatan Harapan government is a coalition of equal status. All four component parties make decisions and policies based on consensus. There is no dominant party in Pakatan Harapan unlike UMNO which is dominant and call the shots in Barisan Nasional.
I also strongly refute Tajuddin;s remark that DAP wants to build a republic in Malaysia. Let me stressed that in the past 52 years, DAP political struggle has always based on the federal constitution that we will defend Islam as the religion of the federation, to defend Malaysia Constitutional Monarchy and safeguard Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the head of state.
I urge the police to immediately investigate Tajuddin’s remark under penal code section 504 and Sedition Act 1948. Under Penal Code section 504, Whoever intentionally insults, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with fine or with both.
