Kelantan PAS State government refusal to reopen cinemas in the state as proposed by an UMNO state assemblyman shows PAS extreme stand and they are incapable to govern the federal government.
PAS excuse that opening cinemas will lead to social ills is not only unfounded but illogical and there is no concrete proof that opening of cinemas will cause the increase of social ills as cinemas are allowed in all states in Malaysia except for Kelantan.
The PAS government must also explain why the Kelantan state has the highest HIV cases in the country when cinemas are banned in the state?
Last year, Kelantan State Health, Family and Women Development Committee chairperson Wan Ubaidah Omar said there were 616 new HIV cases in 2009, which was the highest recorded in the country.
MCA has In the past objected to PAS stand to ban cinemas in the state.
I urge both MCA and UMNO to state their stand and register their strongest protest against their new found ally, PAS for its refusal to reopen cinemas in Kelantan. PAS stand to ban cinemas is extreme has no place in a moderate and multi-racial society in Malaysia. This also proves that PAS is incapable to govern the federal government.
